Ted began his study of the harp during his junior year at Wesleyan with Martha Burwell, and served as harpist in the Illinois Wesleyan Civic Orchestra and the Illinois State University Symphony. Most recently he studied harp with Alice Spero at the University of Illinois and also at the Salzedo School with Alice Chalifoux. He has studied in master classes with Sara Bullen, Joan Holland, Barbara Chapman, Susann McDonald, Judy Loman, Maria Rosa Calvo-Manzano, and Wendy Muston.
Ted is also a pianist and performed for over seven years at Von Maur, an upscale department store in Normal, Illinois. He was frequently in demand as an piano accompanist and has played harp in many weddings and receptions in the central Illinois area. He served as organist to Second Christian Church, Bloomington, Illinois from 1993-1996. Currently he is a member of the Ann Arbor Area Piano Teachers Guild and has a studio of 15 piano students in the Dexter area.
Ted's long-range career goal is to work in a University teaching position combining harp, musicology, and piano.
